A semester is a period of time for which you list courses.
The red boxes are mandatory.
When creating a new semester, go to the Administration, the Settings section, the Semesters module, and add a new entry with a pencil in the upper left corner.
In the name box, fill in what you want to name the given time frame, e.g. school year 2024/25 or First semester 2024.
You set the beginning and end of the semester.
The description will be displayed in the client section above the offer of courses (it can be stated here, for example, whether you teach during holidays and vacations or who clients should contact if they want advice on choosing courses).
After filling in the first tab, continue to the "Settings" tab.
With the arrow to the right of each line, you always expand the menu from which you have to choose. True/False
The "Main" option determines which of the created semesters will be shown first everywhere (mostly it is the ongoing one or the one for which you want to offer courses)
Show in attendance and schedule- you allow whether teachers can already fill in attendance for the given semester and whether clients can now excuse and substitute in the timetable
Open for registration - displays the course offer to clients for enrolment or registration
Show in courses - the semester will only be shown in courses and in events and in the schedule
Show in kindergarten - the semester will only be visible in kindergarten modules
The number of teaching weeks is informative for you
If both is True, it is shown in both.
The holiday calendar is only used for courses - you can choose an already created holiday calendar or you can create a new one with the plus button. The system will not schedule any lessons on days off. More in the instructions here
After filling, you can save.
This is how the semesters are then sorted into the client section of the course offer for clients.
